Hi All
I know some of you have been following my reports on the young lad we spotted in Norway and helped bring over to Man City ( offered to both NUFC and SAFC at age 13).
Martin is now in Norways under 17's side and has started his 2 year scholarship at City. He has been offered a pro contract when he is 17 at City.
As you know the Trust has set up a scouting project and we are busy running trials for under 14's to 16's to be able to take a strong squad to pro clubs throughout country. Our aim was always to re invest back into grassroots and especially to the boy's clubs where these young talented players were brought up and to reward the CLUBS for all their hard work and unpaid efforts.
Here is an example of how clubs in Norway were rewarded by the success of young Martin, who played at DJERV 1919 and VARD , two boys clubs in Norway...this is a recent cutting from a paper in Norway.
HAUGESUND: after its Board meeting on Monday, sent Djerv 1919 a proposal for Manchester City in which they expressed the desire for a collaboration on the trainer and Manager's page. This is in addition to the pure economic benefits in the educational compensation for Samuelsen. On Tuesday came the clubs to terms."We are signing a so-called partnership-agreement with Manchester City. The are three-year and means that our managers and coaches can visit their Academy. In addition, we are agreed on the economic. It's a deal where we get more about Martin successful in Manchester City and for Norway, "said the General Manager of the Intrepid 1919, Håkon Melkevik. He admits that the agreement entails a risk. The Club runs the risk of "losing money" If He does not turn through the City or succeed on the national team, at different levels."We want to signal that we believe in Martin. It is a unanimous Board that goes in for the appointment. We believe it is balanced and forward-looking economic and developmental. It is also very exciting for us to gain access to the city's Academy, tells Melkevik. He also has a background in Vard. They agreed with the City last week and is receiving a seven-digit amount from the Club. ( £100,000 )
Basically Djerv have done a package deal whereby they will get a smaller payment initially, but will get access to City's academy and if Martin progresses at City and Nationally, they will get future payments. VARD have accepted 1,000,000 Kroner which is a one off payment of £100,000.
How much did Monkton FC get for Andy Carroll..... £0.00
Through our agency partnership we hope this will change in the future and your club will get a pay out...which you deserve
AND BEFORE YOU ASK...I GOT NOTHING FOR MARTIN EITHER..LOL ....but great to see him doing so well..thats our reward
